I love this time of year, when all the new fall shows are premiering! I am a sucker though, and have a horrible track record for shows I love getting canceled after the first season, or even first few episodes, like last year's Lone Star on FOX. I was so sad I wouldn't get to see that hottie Bobby's face every week anymore. Well we will see how this year's premieres go, hopefully I won't get any shows canceled. Here are some of the fall premieres that are must-sees at our house:
FOX: The New Girl
Jess Day (Zooey Deschanel) moves in with 3 single guys after a bad break up. These 4, along with Jess' childhood friend, form an unexpected dysfunctional family.
Premieres 9/20 at 8 pm on FOX
ABC: Pan Am
Join the 1963 crew of Pan Am, the largest and more prestigious airline at the time, as they go city to city and give us a look into a historical era. Christina Ricci plays stewardess Maggie Ryan, who won't take no for an answer.
Premieres 9/25 at 9 pm on ABC
ABC: Revenge
Emily Thorne (Emily Van Camp) returns to her old neighborhood in The Hamptons with a vengeance. She has returned to take revenge on something horrible that ruined her family and reputation. A crazy biotch in the Hamptons, how can this show not be awesome? We will see.
Premieres 9/21 at 9 pm on ABC
New York Doctor, Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson), accepts a job in Alabama from a stranger, despite her dream to follow in her father's footsteps. When she gets there she realizes the doctor has passed away and has left half of his practice to her. Out of her element, Zoe doesn't exactly receive southern hospitality from the other doctor in town. If you loved Summer from The OC (and who didn't?) you will probably be giving this show a try. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint.
Premieres 9/26 at 8 pm on The CW
I don't know if you have seen comedian Whitney Cummings on Chelsea Lately, but she is freaking hilarious! Hopefully this show is just as funny. About a happily unmarried couple and their close-knit group of friends.
Premieres 9/22 at 8:30 pm on NBC.
Mario Bello is a NYPD homicide detective, who has just transferred to a new squad. I hope I love the show as much as a love Mario Bello, she seems like such a bad a**!
Premieres 9/22 at 9 pm on NBC.
I love the 3 stars of this show (Christina Applegate, Will Arnett and Maya Rudolph) so I thought i would love this, but unfortunately it didn't blow my skirt up. There were a few funny parts, and it was pretty cute, but nothing that would keep me until the next week's episode. Maya Rudolph is definitely the funniest character, and the baby is adorable. I will probably keep watching a few episodes to see if they get better.
Wednesdays at 7 pm on NBC
Alex (Hank Azaria) and Helen (Kathyrn Hahn) are co-workers at a PR agency and in the first episode we are introduced to them and initially thrown into their totally dysfunctional relationship. Besides being co-workerss they are also sleeping together even though they are both total wrecks. Alex spends most of the episode crying about his recent divorce and Helen spends her time drinking trying to cope with the tragic death of her fiance. I am kinda liking this on again off again relationship and like Up All Night I am going to stick it out for the next episode to see how they deal with the awkward affair.
Wednesdays at 7:30pm on NBC
Max (Kat Dennings) is a tough Brooklyn girl that works two jobs. Caroline Channing (Beth Behrs) is a socialite that has just lost everything her money and her friends. She moves to Brooklyn to escape the tabloids and to try and start over by working at a diner, that Max happens to work at also. The two become fast friends and have a friendship that is so quirky and fun. The hot cheating boyfriend gets kicked out by Max and Caroline moves in. This show had a great start I thought and I can't wait for next week to see what happens, I mean the show ended with them on Caroline's horse that they stole back from the stables, hilarious?
Mondays at 7:30 pm on CBS
Playboy Bunnies, Murder, Love and Drama. I mean what more can you ask for. This compelling show follows the lives of the Bunnies both in and out of the club. The Main Bunny Maureen (Amber Heard) catches the eye of the dashing big-wig Nick Dalton (Eddie Cibrian) who walks in on the self-defense murder of a head mobster. Now their secret is being mistaken by others as a love affair, but it might turn into that. There is just one twist after another and I can't wait to transport myself to the era of Bunnies and Mobsters every week. This show better stick around.
Mondays at 9 pm on NBC
Hope this helps you set your DVR each week. What fall show are you looking forward to watching?
