The Lovely Florence

We were lucky enough to see Florence + The Machine two nights ago at one of the best venues in Kansas City, Starlight Theater. Seeing Florence is something that needs to happen in your lifetime, her powerful voice is matched by her energetic and free spirited dance moves. At one point during the show she literally sprinted through the crowd. It was the most perfect evening for an outdoor concert and Florence's energy is truly contagious, she had everyone in a good mood. Check out some fun photos we got from the show.

And not to mention Florence also has the best sense of humor, check out this hilarious video of Florence singing with Jimmy about balls...tar balls...

Music Double Take- Lollapalooza

Ben Sklar, a photographer for The New York Times shot some amazing multiple exposure pictures at Lollapalooza this summer. These shots are so neat, and I love how they include both fans and musicians, as well as depicting the atmosphere of the festival. Here are a few of my favorites:

Being a part of Lollapalooza this year, and experiencing the music and the atmosphere makes these pictures all the more appealing. Check out the rest of Sklar's shots here.

Musical Journey

via Rolling Stone

Three bands, six cities and one train, that's the magic behind "The Big Easy Express." LA natives Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, Nashville group Old Crow Medicine Show and London lads Mumford and Sons are on board a train from Oakland to New Orleans, some might call it a "tour of dreams." Stopping in six cities along the railroad to preform for fans from both sides of the track. The band members are the only ones on board the train jamming the entire trip one band member even says "Its like we left all our baggage behind and just brought our instruments."

Back into the magic...

"All those little things make us kindred spirits..."

"We are the only one's on this train, we got it all"

"We have this beam of light shooting down on this train, traveling across the country"

via Flickr

On March 17th in Austin, TX at the SXSW, the world premiere of Big Easy Express, followed by a Q&A, as well as a special acoustic set. I would do anything to be there. Can't wait to see this wonderful documentary.

"It was a great trip to New Orleans y'all twenty-eight hundred miles, week and a half and the TIME OF OUR LIFE!"
