Well the holidays are over and we are smack dab in the middle of winter and with nothing to look forward to but Spring. Its cold and dark ... okay enough complaining and lets DIY! We all have them (especially if you are a Topsy's fan) those holiday popcorn tins that take up too much room in your basement. They are the perfect size but are usually so cheesy looking. Turn your tin into something cute and functional!
Dog Food Tin.
Before we were using an eye sore of a Tupperware that only held about 1/3 of a big bag of dog food and now the popcorn tin hold almost a full bag! Upgrade
Before. Not Pretty.
Check the weather, and figure out a nice day for spray painting outdoors, if there isn't a nice day in the forecast spay in your garage or a well ventilated room.
Apply a base coat to your tin covering up the holiday pattern so it doesn't show through.
If you don't have a base coat white spray paint always works too, saving a trip back to the store
Stencils, Acrylic Paint, Sponges are just a few supplies needed
After the base coat is completely dried, Spray evenly with your color of choice, Penny is a girl so I went with a Light Grey that is going to match perfect with Hot Pink and Orange Acrylic Paint.
Come up with a plan, I found a perfect paw print stencil...
Tape down and blot with stencil sponge.
Top finished simple but colorful.
Just keep painting.
Finished!
Much Better
Penny Loves it!
